Hours: Mon-Fri adhering roughly to K-12 site schedule

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Staff Interpreter to join our team. This position involves providing interpreter coverage in situations where contractors are unavailable. The ASL Staff Interpreter will be responsible for upholding the Code of Professional Conduct for Interpreters as outlined by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). While the role may involve remote work and occasional travel, the majority of assignments will be local to the Boise and greater Idaho region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality ASL interpretation services to facilitate effective communication in various settings.
  • Maintain a valid Idaho Interpreting License to practice within the state.
  • Collaborate with Deaf and hearing individuals to ensure accurate interpretation while respecting confidentiality.
  • Communicate with the team regarding assignment scope and seek assistance when necessary, following established procedures.
  • Participate in team interpreting as needed, requesting assistance when appropriate.
  • Work from home when necessary for assignment preparation and remote assignments.


  • Valid Idaho Interpreting License.
  • Strong knowledge of the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and travel when necessary.
